I am in local guide of level 6 but I did not get any rewards. What can I do to get rewards? Bucause I want to get rewards. Help me
Hi @Pranjol
You could consider the free and updated Maps app a great reward.
If you expect rewards for your efforts then Local Guides isn’t the best place for you. We are all volunteers. We do what we do to help Maps Users and the community. If you get a reward then it’s a bonus, not a right.
There is no pattern and no fairness in who gets rewards. It is just a marketing gimmick.
My motivation is the joy of knowing that I’m helping a lot of people and businesses. Also, making new friends here on Connect can be considered a great perk. I find it very rewarding being a Local Guide.
Hang in there, keep up the good work, and maybe one day it’ll be your turn.
You can learn more about perks by reading: Questions about Local Guides rewards. Also, Why be a local guide? is worth a read.
And finally, make sure Rewards is selected in your email settings found here. And update the location to show your current location.
Cheers
Morten
If you own an android smartphone, try the app “google opinion rewards”
cfr. https://googleopinionrewardsrefer.page.link/YqqiTN9jTrxuWzgf8 . Local guides programm doesn’t automatically result in getting rewards, I’m afraid.
google guide perks are for namesake only! they do not exist! if you upload video on youtube, you might get money and reward for your time…however being a google guide helping others by posting reviews/photos are of no use to google it seems. They offer 0 benefits. After posting so many reviews and photos, i received 0, absolutely 0 benefits! Sorry, they sent me one small tote bag in last 15 years!! truly disappointing!
Hi @odopic , welcome back to Connect.
Looking at your 10 posts/comments in Connect posted over the years and your contributions in Google Maps looks like that you are more interested in perks more than in providing great contents.
As you can read in Question about a Local Guides reward email? Read this first “Rewards are offered to Local Guides from time to time as a thank you for contributing great content on Google Maps”.
The key seems to be “great content”, and honestly I would consider REDUNDANCY (with an average of more than 63 photos per place) more a violation of the Local Guides policies than Great Content.
As you frequently on your posts mentioned monetisation in YouTube I wonder if you have any idea of the conditions for having your video monetised. Most probably you don’t, otherwise you will not use it as an example.
Like @MortenCopenhagen I contribute because I enjoy doing it, and I believe both of us never received a perk even if we have nine to ten times your points.
Also as a Local Guide I enjoy having a great navigation system for free, instead of paying 100 € every year like I was doing before Google Maps, and I value it a lot. Don’t you?
A first step forward would be to remove the redundancy of very similar photos, starting to be a real Local Guide. This will help you to avoid being removed for violations of the policies, and maybe in the future will help you to receive also some perk.
Good luck
