Help Me Local Guides

Hi Guiding Stars and Local Guides, I would to understand from the pic above, why do I have 13 notifications of likes or responses when I clicked on DRAFTS tab from my profile? The red highlighted text is a results of try to open a draft. Again, why do I have a draft that I can’t access? Thank you Team.

@Diplomat_Peter

I wish I could answer precisely. The red screen can show up for many reasons. But please make sure you are logged in and try again. I don’t waste time trying to understand these often meaningless or out-of-context error messages. Instead, I just try again and it normally works.

Cheers

Hi @Diplomat_Peter ,

thank you for reaching out to us!

The message indicates a post which has been removed from Connect, because not respecting Connect Core Values, off-topic for Connect, or containing sensitive, offensive and / or plagiarized information or any other similar situation.

Your Drafts are saved unposted comments and they may be done on a post which has been removed, so clicking on it will bring you to that post which cannot be displayed because not anymore public, hence your draft comment to it as well.

A good reference to start writing good contents are the articles How do I write a post on Connect and How do I follow the original content guidelines on Connect. Kindly please also avoid to publish external links which they may trigger our spam filters and also personal advertising is strictly forbidden, if you want to share your social links use a signature instead.

Thank you very much and Happy Guiding!

Hallo, @Diplomat_Peter

A draft can be:

  • The draft of a new post
  • The draft of an unsent reply
  • The draft of a modification of a post/reply not saved yet

In this case I would like to exclude the first point (a new post) because the message is telling you that the post related to the draft has been moved in an area of the community where you cannot write. The most common reasons are that you are responding to a post that on the meantime has been moved out of the public area because Off-Topic or spam. In this case the reason is that the post has been intercepted by the Spam Filter when you edited the post. The reason is probably a link that is wrong, and should be fixed. I’ve released that post just now.

The reason why you see the number 13 is that, when you cannot reach the page you are looking for the page upload in the notification widget a number that is in your cache from the past visits. Clearing the cache should reset that number.

Hi all,

I get similar error messages if a moderator choses to move or remove a post while I type a reply. I have never seen a red error because of content violating Connect guidelines.

Hello @MortenCopenhagen @ErmesT @LuigiZ

Your assistance triggered curiosity to further know what happened. I discovered my auto-saved post from the comment I posted during this week, see below:

Fortunately my comment was not drafted because of any misconduct. It was a response to someone’s post, see below:

I have shared my experience with the subpar draft functionality on Connect here, @Diplomat_Peter .

A draft, @Diplomat_Peter , is the aut-saved content of a post or a reply modified but not posted yet, and has nothing to do with misconduct or similar.

You can ideally prepare a post and post it after a week. When you force the closure of the web page where you are writing your content, what you wrote will be saved as a draft.

However, while in a post you have to press “reply” or “start a post” to open the editor, in the Highlight section the editor is always open, immediately under the mai post. Om mobile it is very easy to touch that area even not intentionally. Connect will interpreter this action as an attempt to write something, and will autosave the reply, even if empty.

This is very common, don’t worry
