Hi

I have an issue with Google not giving me my appropriate points. I have added a location, but when the location i added was published, they registered it as a changed location, not an added location. Even though it clearly was not anything registered on that location before. Do you know anything about how this could happen?

Hello @Labcritter that sounds a bit weird indeed. Could you possibly send a link to the place on Maps? Then others can have a look.

And how long ago did you add the place? Sometimes points are only attributed 1 or 2 days later. By the way what is shown in your overview of edits on you profile in Maps or in the email you received?

The email from local guides Stated that my change was approved.

Please share the exact wording about the approval. You say you added the place and only got credited for an edit, correct?

When did you receive the email?

Currently some updated seem a bit delayed compared to normal.

@Labcritter I suggest to simply put it to the test whether this was a ‘freak accident’ or a systematic problem, by adding some other points of interest. Perhaps there are playgrounds, statues, glass recycling drop off points, etc in your area that are still missing.

This appears to be a trailhead? Am I correct, is Finnkollen the name of a trail?

Hi @Labcritter I suspect this may happen when someone else has added a place and it was “pending” and your addition may have confirmed their addition. At that point they get the points because they added it first.

Please do as suggested by @JanVanHaver so we can learn if this was caused by some very special circumstances as suggested by @PaulPavlinovich or the problem is a general and reproducible error.

If you can not reproduce the error, I think @PaulPavlinovich gave you the best possible explanation.
