Help: Getting you're all caught up Error after Google photos Storage Saver plan

Hi guys,

Myself Akhil and I’m a level 8 local guide. I have been using pixel devices since pixel 2 series and I used to get unlimited photos upload/ storage option in Google photos till around 2021. Post that, Google removed the unlimited storage option from Pixel. I purchased the additional Google one storage as well. But I have shifted my Photos account to “Storage Saver” plan somewhere in 2022. However, I’m now using the original quality upload option in Google photos (after purchasing Google drive Storage). However, ever since I changed to storage saver I suppose, I’m not getting any photos/ videos Suggestions in the Contribute section. It’s always showing “You’re all caught up”. And as a result, I’m unable to post photos/ reviews as a local guide. Can someone help me ?

You do not need suggestions or prompts from Google Maps to add photos and reviews.

Two suggestions you can try:

Find the place you want to review or add photos to on Google Maps via text search or by zooming in to find the place on the map. Then open the place/pin. From there you can start adding a review by clicking the number of stars you want to award. Then you can add the text and photos.

The second method is opening Google Photos and finding a photo you want to add on Google Maps. Open the image and select Share. Then select share it to Google Maps (you may need to swipe or search to find Maps). You might be lucky that Google Maps will suggest the correct place while using this method.

I would recommend that you never use the suggestions/prompts as they can suggest the wrong places and it will encourage you to upload duplicates which is against the guidelines.

Please also confirm that you use the same Google Account in Maps and Google Photos.

Thank you for your reply and really do appreciate it.

Yes, I am using the same Google account for both maps and photos.

Yes, I can manually add the photos/ videos. But earlier, I used to get suggestions in the “Add photos/ videos section under Contribute” tab in Google maps where it will automatically detect the place along with photos taken at that place and then I will be able to select the photos I want and just click on post. Now it simply shows “you’re all caught up”.

You may need to enable location history in the app.
