Hello Googlers and fellow local guides! I am a local guide here in Atlanta, GA imaginary handshakes for everyone
This post is part of my application to the Google Local Guides Connect Live conference. However! That is not the sole reason I am here. Honestly, it really isn’t…I swear!
Being called a guide is quite fascinating for me. I just keep imagining a buttoned up, neutral colored shirt worn by solemn face with an encyclopedia in hand. Nothing against buttoned up, neutral colored shirts, encyclopedias…or, solemn people who read them. It’s only my ignorant, pre-internet era imagination. Nevertheless, I was quite (happily) surprised to get sent this invitation for the conference. I must be doing something, right. Right?
So really my approach to writing any review is that I write my honest opinion. That’s it. Really. My only hope, when I write down my opinion, is to impart useful information to the person(s) reading. I understand how difficult, frustrating, stressful it is moving to a new place. This is especially true when moving to big city, like Atlanta, Georgia. We have people moving here from across the US, and really, the entire world. As exciting it is to journey and discover a new place, it can be stressful in equal measure.
So, I can say, without a shred of shame: my driving passion is to share my opinion. Yes, mine! My precious opinions!
But, in all seriousness, I find the opportunity to connect with local guides across the world incredibly exciting. I love meeting people from various cultures, trying out the different foods, and ultimately learning from any and everyone. Even if I don’t get the chance to attend the conference, communicating via this forum would be an absolute pleasure. Please share your thoughts with me down below!
