Healing people with cold water and air

“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone”.
One of the many sayings of the Iceman, Wim Hof. Holder of 26 world records and amazing feats of the human body, and my teacher.

In September 2018 I smashed my collarbone from a skateboarding accident. Knowing some of this breathing and ice training methods, I used it daily and after two months, I was in Poland with Wim’s team and hiked a -15°C mountain in a 70kmh blizzard wearing only shorts. My body did heal in time, in record pace actually, and thus began my journey to share this amazing human capability we all have to heal and strengthen ourselves from within.

Today one of my favourite activities is to teach people how to utilize something we have for free: AIR, to calm our nerves, bring clarity to our otherwise hectic mind and load up our body with oxygen for energy to heal, recover, move and be strong. When’s the last time you took a BIG breath of air?
In fact, take THREE big breaths and exhale slowly now, I guarantee you will feel immediately better, calmer and more relaxed.

Then, the next most amazing thing is something that’s a little difficult to find in sunny Singapore : Ice Cold Water. 360 LITERS of it.
In the end I set up my own chest freezer and filled water in it and powered it up until ice starts to form.
Guiding people in the ice tub is so amazing, because I get to watch them go from fear and utter panic, to strong and calm.
Coming out of the tub, the next most amazing sight is to see that relief and smile on their faces.
“I don’t feel my lower back pain anymore”
“My knee, I can feel it healing”
“I FEEL AMAZING!”

Every chance I get, I put new people in the tub and teach them to breathe. From everyday folks and business men to seasoned athletes and pro-level competitors, this simple formula manages to find all sorts of solutions for people from all walks.
Sharing their experience (their first time ever in a tub of ice water) in maps gives me a nice log of the number of amazing souls that I have come across since I started this journey and is one of my favourite things to do.
The more I share, the more people would know about it, the more this method could help others.

And I think that’s what gives life meaning: being able to help others.
