Healey Dell Nature Reserve

Out of most of the local parks and nature reserves I have visited, this is one of my favourites. I have been to Healing Dell in the summer and winter, and it looks like a totally different place each time.

There is a lot of history here as well; the Royal Air Force used the park as a secret storage site in WW2. Deep in the forest and now overgrown there are still a lot of old bunkers at the site, most of which are decaying.

I did get a few photos the first time I went, but if I am honest, I kept my distance as the roofing was made from white asbestos, and I did not want to be breathing in the asbestos dust.

On the other side of the park, there are quite a few waterfalls, and I have to say the views are amazing. I did try to catch as much as I could with my GoPro camera, and in the video below, you will see all of what I filmed.

If you are a photographer or even just want a peaceful walk in nature, then I would highly recommend this place. Every time I have been, I have found something new, and I have also noticed a lot of different kinds of mushrooms growing all over.

Oh a nature park and a history site, hilarious! It looks like such a great place to absorb yourself into nature especially with the waterfalls.
Thanks for sharing with us @WattoPhotos

does the history site has a guide or informative guides around it? Is it free to access?

There are a few maps around the site and it is free to access the only issue is with it being such a big area waterproof clothing and boots is a must as it is steep and muddy in some places when it is raining as you can see from the video I filmed.

Thank you my friend.
