Hello!
This March 2nd&3rd is the Peruvian national beach clean-up day called ‘HAZla Por Tu PLaya’. On this weekend, youth fan out across all beaches in Peru and work to clean up as much trash as possible, and return Peruvian beaches to their pristine states.
My name is Dale Plotzki and I am a Local Guide 7 from Lima. I am also the HAZla leader for the Playa Barlovento HAZla clean-up. And I would like to invite you to join our clean-up!
We will be meeting at Playa Barlovento at 9am on Sunday, March 3rd. We will provide trash bags, and you can buy a pair of work gloves for around 5-10s./ a pair. We will also have a few rakes and shovels to use as well. We will work until 1130am and then go to a nearby restaurant for lunch (at your expense).
You should bring a hat, sunblock, water, sunglasses and appropriate clothes for working in the sun. All trash will be weighed, logged and then brought to a local landfill. Let’s work together to clean up the incredible beaches of Peru!
-Dale
