Have you used a drone for photography? - what are some of your best shots and tips?
Hi @AlfredBrock ,
Thanks for reaching out to the community! : ]
I would yet to have any significant experience with drone, however I believe there are some Local Guides with seasoned practice, as to mention @kpaps , @tamasabu , @Chopp669 and many more others whose contributions help building up the community.
It would be indeed interesting to hear further opinions from other Local Guides as well!
My best advice would be to take your drone everywhere. Some of the best photos are the ones we never planned on taking. Also always be aware of your take off points. I wasn’t paying attention one time at started flying right under some power lines… Long story short the controller lost connection and the drone went to return to home and fried on the power lines. I also always make sure to do a good lense clean right before take off to ensure I’m getting the best shot possible. What drone are you flying?
Hi @Chopp669 ,
Those are really valid points, if one day I will own one device! : ]
Just to add on your suggestion, as to carefully pick suitable locations, would it be needed to have the drone registered in your region?
Thanks for the compliment and thanks for making me aware of this question. I love drone photography it can really bring out talents you never knew you had. @so when your ready to purchase your first please feel free to ask me anything I have a long list of great drones that won’t break the bank but also won’t break when they hit the ground. Remember a great done isn’t always cheap and a cheap drone isn’t always great.
Yes @sonnyNg @AlfredBrock . Any drone weighing over .055 lbs you are required to register your drone. Not only that but it’s good to register your drone incase you lose it during your flight whoever finds it can type in your faa register number and be able to return it to you. I also suggest before you try video and photos to take the time to learn your drone and the controller. Play with it a bunch before you get serious and start taking photo and video. Learn the touchiness of your controller. Learn how to have fun a with your yourd photos with reflex that.
Hi @Chopp669 ,
Thanks for the generous amount of knowledge you have shared with us! : ]
I will implement the step by step purchase, as to keep in mind to get lighter ones as well.
