Have you ever heard about Russian San Francisco?

Hello Local Guides,

Have you ever heard that there is another San Francisco in Russia?

Russian San Francisco-Vladivostok is the capital of Far East.

Petite Vladivostok is located in Primorye region of Russia.

Vladivostok has quite unique vibe. Whenever I visit the city I feel that Vladivostok is a small Europe or Russian city in Asia.

Funny fact is that it takes almost 9 hours to Moscow by plane yet Seoul or Tokyo is only 2 hours away from Vladivostok.

If you have a chance to visit Vladivostok, I highly recommend to take a moment and enjoy the city view from the peak called

‘Pamyatnik Kirillu I Medofiyu’ and do not forget to try some vodka to warm up for -30 degree temperature during winter

Hello @Zohid ,

Thanks for sharing, it’s very interesting.

I’ve heard about Vladivostok, but I’ve never heard that they call it San Fransisco. It looks amazing on your photo, when have you been there? It’s a bit funny that is closer to Seoul and Tokyo than Moscow, but we know that Russia is a huge country.

@helga19 have you ever been to Vladivostok?

Hi @Petra_M ,

Thank you for your feedback.

I live in Seoul and visit Vladivostok at least once or twice in year. And I have taken the picture in my story last Summer during my business trip to the Far East.

One more interesting fact about Vladivostok is that the city is known as ‘the closest Europe’ in Korea

Hello @Zohid ,

Thank you for introducing the beautiful Russian San Francisco to us! I also didn’t know that Vladivostok is famous with this name.
