The Japanese rice, Miso Soup, grilled mackerel fish, beef, potato salad and prickled ginger all I have in my lunch, and this is a typical Japanese Lunch rituals that have rice, soups, main dish, side dish, salad amd other condiments. Total a balanced meal for anyone.
When I came to Japan 3 years ago, I didn’t like the taste and smell of Japanese food at all. But now my tastebud has developed and now I enjoy traditional Japanese lunch very much.
★I have also learned to eat with chopsticks.
In my Lunch menu I had
★Rice- Japanese rice cooked in a rice cooker.
★Red Pickled ginger- Its vinegary ginger Tsukemono (漬物, “pickled things”) or japanese pickle called Beni shōga (紅生姜). The red color acquired from Japanese herb called Red perilla is in the herb of mint family. Serverd with Japanese chili and spice mix.
★Miso Soup- (味噌汁) or miso-shiru is traditional japanese soup made of Miso paste and Dashi Stock with veggies, tofu, seaweed and others.
Miso Paste is basically a mixed recipe of fermented soyabean paste, salt, fungus named ‘Aspergillus oryzae’ Also known as Japanese koji, sometimes used rice, barley or other ingredients.
Dashi stock- is mixed broth made of dried baby sardine fish, dried kelp ( is a kind of seaweed), Katsuobushi (鰹節) is a shimmered, Smoked, fermented skipjack Tuna fish, or sometimes used Bonito fish Flakes
★Beef- is a combination of thin slice beef with onion used to grilled with salt and soy sauce.
