Happy World Book Day, Local Guides! 🌍

Hello LG fam,
Today is World Book Day..! Wish you all a happy World book day..!

Books open up entire worlds, spark imagination, and offer a window into different cultures, lives, and perspectives. Whether you’re a fan of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, or travel guides, today is the perfect day to celebrate the joy of reading. :books:

While many of us now scroll through stories on tablets, e-readers, or laptops — there’s something timeless and magical about the rustle of pages, the scent of a well-loved book, and the feel of a paperback in your hands. Don’t you think?:open_book:

To mark this special day, let’s create a Global Library right here on Connect! :dizzy:

:camera_with_flash: Here’s how you can participate:

  1. Share pictures of your favorite local library, bookstore, or reading corner/cafe.
  2. Post a snapshot of your favorite book extra points if it’s connected to your city or a travel story!
  3. Tell us why that book or place is special to you.
  4. Don’t forget to mention the location – someone might just add it to their travel list! :world_map:

Here’s mine to get things started :backhand_index_pointing_down:
:round_pushpin:Pai Friends Library, Dombivli
:round_pushpin:Bookmark Cafe, Kalyan
:round_pushpin:Street Book Corner, Fort

:open_book: Currently Reading: The Scion of Ikshvaku by Amish Tripathi
A gripping mythological retelling of Lord Ram’s journey, filled with powerful characters and thought-provoking moments. Perfect for anyone who enjoys Indian epics with a fresh perspective.

:open_book: Current Favorites:
:sparkles: Ikigai – A beautiful guide to living a life full of purpose and peace, inspired by the Japanese way of thinking.
:sparkles: Vapurza by Va. Pu. Kale – This Marathi classic is like a warm hug. The book does not have index, just open any page, and read any paragraph, either the reading would bring smile on your face or makes you pause and reflect.

:open_book: All-time Favorite: A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
An emotional rollercoaster that tells the story of love, sacrifice, and resilience. This book left a lasting impact on me and holds a very special place in my heart.

Let’s turn the world into a storybook, one photo at a time!

Happy Reading :books:

What a great day to start @SaylliWalve1 . Happy Book day to you.

Recently I got chance to visit The Reading Book, owned by Archana and conducted a small interview and to be supportive in Google Maps.

State Central library is my favourite go to go book or library place. It is completely accessible by Wheelchair users and Visually abled.

Happy World Book Day. Books have and are my best ever friend till date. A voracious reader, that everyday be what i should read at least a page.

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE by Jane Austen- My all time favourite book that at least yearly once i make it a point to read the book again. A die hard fan of Mr.Darcy.

PONNIYIN SELVAN By Sri Kalki Krishnamoorthy- A nostalgic Chozha era story with abundant history, story, twist and romance is another favourite book I read two years once for it’s a five part story book.

THE LAWS OF SPIRIT WORLD- By Sri Khorshed Bhavanagiri- A spiritual, self help book that shows pathway towards higher goal.

Of course other books on spirituality, crime and self help are there too.

WRITERS CAFE Chennai is a cafe, library and book reading spot. There are lot of branches and the branch I go regularly to is Taramani branch. Biting their famous pineapple pizza and sipping hot tea with a book in hand is something I do and would love to do. New collections are added to their library regularly.

Thank you very much for this lovely opportunity to share.

Your passion for reading truly shines through, and The timeless Pride and Prejudice (Mr. Darcy, right?), the historic book of Ponniyin Selvan (I’ve watched the movie, but books are always better. It’s now on my to-read list), and The Laws of the Spirit World definitely adding that one to my reading list too. :folded_hands:

Re-reading favorites is such a soulful practice

The Writers Cafe sounds like a dream spot for book lovers! Tea and a good book :hot_beverage::open_book: what more could we ask for?
