Today, we celebrate three years of Connect, this online community where Local Guides from all over the world come together to share their experiences as a Local Guide, ask questions, suggest ideas, and help others learn about their explorations locally and globally.
Since we launched Connect in July 2016, we’ve taken your feedback to heart, completely overhauling Connect last summer and making tons of improvements this year as we make it easier—and better—for you to find the people and topics you’re interested in seeing.
In keeping with our new tradition of sharing what we’ve accomplished together, here’s a look at what we’ve done together since Connect launched in July 2016:
Nearly one million Local Guides have registered here on Connect and hundreds of thousands visit every month
Over 275,000 topics have been created
Over 764,000 replies have been posted
Over 1.5 million likes have been given
Over 18,000 of your responses have been marked a solution to the original post
Over 3,700 ideas have been shared in the Idea Exchange
17 people have become Connect Moderators (Currently, we have 16 who represent 14 different countries!)

What i love most is the sharing of our wonderful experience travel/photography/meetups. Connect has provided the opportunity by making it more live by having discussion and appreciation from googlers, connect moderators and fellow LGs.

I discovered Connect too long after becoming a Local Guide, and it felt like I had been missing half of the “Local Guides” world. At first, I used it to ask questions and get advice, which Local Guides always seem to love to give. But it wasn’t long before I saw great posts that shared beautiful places and different cultures in a way that you can’t find in any other platform, in a way that you feel super connected with the author and free to ask anything. And since day one, since my first comment and post, everyone has been incredibly supportive and welcoming.
I am very grateful for Connect and the wholesome community here.

What do I love most about Connect?
Its diversity and how Local Guides share their content on a polite and positive way.
The way I read and watch the international news is totally different … For example right now Hurricane Barry is being devastating in Louisiana (USA), I know Local Guides who lives there… so I get more interested and even worried when I am watching the news…
And we don´t stop learning about geography, photograpy, enviroment, reduced movility, lgtb+…
