Hello, dear Local Guides!

Wishing everyone a very Happy International Letter Writing Day!

In this age of instant communication, handwritten letters have slowly become a thing of the past. We have SMS, emails, Messenger, WhatsApp, and countless other ways to reach someone within seconds. Even when it comes to work or business, a quick email has almost completely replaced the traditional letter.

But somehow, I feel that nothing can truly replace the feeling of a handwritten letter.

We can text someone whenever we want. We can call them, send a voice message, or share our feelings instantly. But a handwritten letter feels different. Every word is written by hand, every line carries a little more thought, and every stroke of the pen seems to hold a part of the writer’s emotions.

There was a time when we would eagerly wait for a letter from someone special. The handwriting didn’t have to be perfect. It didn’t matter if it was beautiful or messy. What mattered was the feeling behind it.

And then came the waiting.

After sending a letter, we had to wait days, sometimes even weeks, for a reply. We would wait for the postman, hoping there might be a letter for us. And when it finally arrived, the happiness was something a simple notification on a phone can hardly recreate.

We would carefully fold those letters and keep them safe in a little box, knowing that they were more than just pieces of paper. They were memories—memories we could hold in our hands and read again years later.

Those days may be gone, but the feelings they left behind are still with us. And whenever I think about them, I can’t help but feel a little nostalgic.

Technology has made communication faster and easier, and of course, we are grateful for that. But perhaps, alongside all this convenience, we should also keep a little space for the old-fashioned way of expressing our feelings.

Let’s write a handwritten letter to someone we care about. Let’s keep this beautiful tradition alive.

প্রযুক্তির ছোঁয়ায় হাতে লেখা চিঠি হারিয়ে গেছে, হারিয়ে গেছে অপেক্ষা আর অনুভূতির সেই মায়াও। হাতে লেখা প্রতিটি অক্ষরে যে আবেগ ও ভালোবাসা ছিল, তা আজও সত্যিই অতুলনীয়।

Waaah terimakasih yaaa @NasimJ atas informasi dan unggahannya . Saya jadi tau kalau hari ini hari menulis. Rasanya masih segar dalam ingatan saya saat jaman kirim surat dulu. Di Indonesia jaman dulu ada paket kilat khusus tanpa perangko hanya di cap saja begitu dan harganya mahal banget 2.500 rupiah tapi sudah bisa di pastikan surat kita akan sampai dalam 1 hari 24 jam xixixi
Saya langganan soalnya . Dan saya masih ingat dengan pantun yang sangat populer di jaman itu .
Bandung dulu baru Jakarta , cium dulu baru di baca . Eaaa eaa eaaa hahaha
Lalu di bawahnya begini
Empat kali empat =enam belas (4x4=16), sempat tidak sempat harus di balas.

I used to sent letter to my girlfriend. Now She is my wife.
It was usually taken 3 - 15 days.
Now we write letter, but no need to sent by post office. We give in hand or write on Dairy book.
For normal letter, stamp is not mendatory @TitikMariati

Saya di 10 tahun belakangan ini juga masih pakai surat kok. Karena di pondok Gontor anak2 tidak di perbolehkan membawa hp dan sejenisnya jadi kita berkomunikasi hanya lewat wartel ataupun surat yang di titipkan ke orang tua atau guru untuk di sampaikan . Seperti itu . Dan berlanjut sampai sekarang kalau di hari spesial mereka masih saya kirimkan surat . Nulisnya juga baper banget sampai nangis terharu saya cengeng

Kalau dulu surat itu saya buat ya masih masa-masa cinta monyet kalau kata ornag Indonesia yang artinya cinta anak remaja yang tidak serius. Dan semuanya gak jadi suami saya . Suami saya malah gak pakai surat-suratan. Sudah ada telepon soalnya

Dan anda keren kok masih suka surat-suratan sama istri. Harus di pertahankan itu yaaa @NasimJ
