Today, we commemorate the return of civil leadership in Nigeria. After several years of military rule, Africa’s largest country began a new journey as a republic. On 29th May 1999, a newly elected President was sworn-in and since then we have transitioned successfully as a democracy.
Nigeria observes May 29 as a public holiday to celebrate this great stride.

It boasts of the longest canopy walkway in Africa and the second largest in the world next to Taman Negara National Park Malaysia which streaches for 500 meters. The LCC at it’s highest point stands at 22.5 meters, it’s walkway is 401 meters long and 0.6 meters wide.
It’s smallest state is Lagos and also doubles as the most populous state in Nigeria and the most populous city in Africa, with a population of 21 million.
