Handwritten notetaking to Reply and Comment a post.

I have a habit to write everything even a small things.

I always make a note after clicking the notification button.

I always use my favorite paper notes , 13 cm wide x 16.5 cm height with six holes.

This size is easier for me to bring everywhere.

The six holes make me easy to sequencing the sentence by open the ring, re arrange the paper sequence than close the ring.

Especially Local Guides that mention my Connect Id.

  1. I make a list then I click the notification.
  2. Read his or her comment carefully
  3. Take a note of every single details that mention in comment espicially words that not too familiar with me.
  4. If it is necessary I try to find out that word using Google Translate.
  5. Then make a note of what I want to reply and some details that I want to discuss.
  6. Click Reply button start to typing based on my papper notetaking.
  7. Use necessary macro, for regular sentence that I use such as greeting.
  8. Re read and make correction
  9. Publish.

Reading a new post is always accompanied with the paper notes, so I can make notetaking the name of the places, name of Mountain, name of flowers that interest me.

Than the Idea that I want to write in Comment.

Steps almost the sme with steps number 2. to number 9.

Or do you have a better How to, to make me more pruductive ?

Hey @BudiFXW

Thanks for sharing tips from how seriously you prepare and keep track of your and others’ contributions here on Connect. Quite impressive.

I have other tips that might be useful to consider. When typing a reply to someone, I often use another tab or window to look up relevant details and links. Sometimes it is relevant to check the level and previous posts by the Local Guide asking for help or I might open and check their profile on Google Maps. Or I use an extra tab or window to do a search on Connect for related and already accepted solutions. And I keep bookmarks and a document with links often needed. And I also use the macros to speed up replying. I know this is not as meticulously as your methods, but it’s quicker.

Cheers @BudiFXW

In that case @BudiFXW we seems to be opposites, as I have stopped making notes on paper completely, a number of years already. Obviously I do take notes in several sitautions, but always digital (mainly by using the app Simplenote, which nicely synchronizes the notes across all devices).

It has become such a habit now, that I also stopped making sure I have paper and a pen at hand. A while ago, at the office, a colleague entered my office and asked “Can I borrow a pen?”. I had to turn the request down as I truly had nothing that could be used for handwriting in the entire office. That does not mean I live paperless, as I still prefer to read printed books over digital books and also when visiting the toilet… I’m glad to still have paper around

Hi, I hope you are in good healthy condition.

Thank you for your fully insighted description about paper notetaking.

I am quaiete a while note buying paper note, i just recycled my unused one side paper.

It is a good Idea to shift to Simple Note.

I will try to find the application, and start to learn to use it.

Thank you

Oh @BudiFXW

You’re taking me back in 2017& 18. I love to answer here in How-tos section and feedback & features board in connect 1.0 ,etc.

A map discussion couldn’t be a sort chat. I usually took my notebook and notice what user is trying to get and what we as local guides are helping them.

 :+1:
