#Halloween: The Abandoned Clay Mine

Today, October 31, is Halloween and there are still 2 hours left before midnight strikes. Well almost 1 hour now.

Hurriedly starts typing 3rd and final article for my #Halloween Connect Post Challenge…. (I also wanted to challenge myself to see if I could write a shorter article- thanks to the observation from @TravellerG that shorter articles help with reader engagement :blue_heart: )

Let’s visit one more spooky spot! It’s called Clay Mine Trail, located in Cave Creek Regional Park.

Let’s look at each mysterious letter now to learn some quick facts about it.

C: Clay was found in this mine. There was no gold.

L: Leila Irish owned and operated the mine in the 1930’s.

A: “Ailments cure-all” was what the clay powder was marketed as, but it only healed dysentery.

Y: You can only go inside the mine on a ranger-led tour- events listed here on the website.

M: Meanwhile, you can look inside through the gated door or from the fence at top of the shaft.

I: It’s about a mile walk from the nature center. Go on Overton and go left on Clay Mine Trail.

N: Near the end of the trail, there is the abandoned Clay Mine.
E: Extra-adventurous folks may see it on certain night hikes led by the park ranger.

Kürzer, ja… Weniger interessant, nein

Interesting idea mining dirt for people to eat it as a cure-all, thanks @AZ_2021

Hello my dear friend, I feel I have mentioned it earlier…

When we have to attend many articles here, the lengthy posts will get only a GLANCE… kindly pardon me, if I’m wrong…

Thanks, dear @Stephanie_OWL

Hallo @TravellerG

That’s another nice Halloween Challenge post, my dear friend @AZ_2021 .

Hmm… Brief and nice …

Let me be frank with you… I loved your post very much.

Compact and interesting… Read it at a stretch…

Even I saw your 2 minutes Video Clip and commented too.

Excellent - Your UNIQUE style of C - L - A - Y M - I - N - E definition is very interesting… Beautiful…

Of course, the photos are contextual… Nice.

Loving hugs

@AZ_2021 That first picture looks like you’re inside. Did you do the tour, or did you just help yourself?

The Goldfield Ghost Town has its campy little mine tour, but this Clay Mine looks pretty serious! For a really spooky experience, there are haunted mine tours up in Jerome, Arizona. Those folks play into the “Haunted” label quite a bit, too.

Thank you @Stephanie_OWL you are always so supportive and kind. It means a lot. :two_hearts:

Yes, you are right the mine can be scary if you go by yourself. One time I was just standing outside and I got a jump scare from a rabbit jumping out.

Yes my friend @TravellerG That is true. I remember you, me and @Prince_Kumar noticed sometimes the shorter articles can attract more reader engagement. I like to keep it different, so my articles are alls different lengths to keep reader interested. :slightly_smiling_face:

My friend yay I love to read your comments @JustJake

In this case, I did the tour. It was at that time $7 per vehicle to get into the park, and then the tour is free. It was fun to go in.

A funny story I just thought of is— they also did the tour at Halloween night a few years back and I thought i would go to make it extra spooky. Unfortunately there was a line of people almost over a mile long, plus a mile long wait of cars outside waiting to get into the park. Since the line didn’t move, I turned back but it was fun just to see so many people out on the trails at night. :two_hearts:

Yes, good idea for Jerome, AZ. I was thinking of going there. It looks beautiful. :blue_heart:

To be frank with you, many days, along with my corporate responsibilities, I find it difficult to clear LGs who have tagged me.

But, you are right… Choose what you want…

Nobody compel you here…

Thanks for your kind response, dear friend @Stephanie_OWL
