This meetup recap is part ofUnofficial LocalGuidesConnect Worldwide Birthday Celebrations started by @KashifMisidia and @AdrianLunsong

This meetup was held on July 8th at Hala Tree Kona Organic Coffee Farm in Big Island Hawaii. This was my third trip to Hawaii islands, however my first trip to the Big Island. Also my first flight after the pandemic had started, so it was an exciting vacation trip after going through several lock downs during pandemic.

Hala Tree Kona Coffee farm which I visited is relatively small in size around 6 acres, they also have a 40 acre farm in another location. Tour to the farm was free, however I had to reserve the tour ahead of time.

Our tour host was very knowledgeable and courteous, she showed us around the farm, including several fruit trees. She explained the coffee processing method. Tour also included coffee and tea tasting.

Picture of Hala Tree which is in the farm. Farm is named after this tree!

Interesting welcome sign at the farm, after we parked the car, couple of huge dogs came to welcome us. It was in fact intimidating!

You can have some free coffee before you start the tour in the front office.

That is me exploring the farm before the start of the tour.

Beautiful view of the Ocean from the farm.

Our gracious and knowledgeable host explaining the coffee processing, which was part of the tour.

Shot of the coffee plant, with couple of ripe (red in color) coffee fruit also known coffee cheery or coffee berry!

When you open the Coffee Cheery you will find two coffee beans!

At the end of the tour we got to taste couple of varieties of Coffee in this tasting room, also two types of tea as well. One of the tea in fact is made using coffee extract.

Coffee tasting Menu, we get to pick two out of this list for tasting.

Collage of shots inside the tasting room. The other fun part of this tour was, farm had lot of other fruit trees, like Mango, Avocado, Lychee, Macadamia Nuts, Guava, Mountain Apples.

That’s me and newly recruited LG @user_not_found my wife! picking some fallen mangoes!

Few varieties of coffee which were for sale in the farm.
