HAL Heritage Centre and Aerospace Museum

The first of its kind in India established in 2001, it is situated at the intersection of HAL Old Airport Road in Bangalore. The museum opens at 9 am and is closed on Mondays. Photography is permitted. There is small but well-maintained cafeteria on the premises and a souvenir shop where you can buy aircraft models. It is sprawled over 4 acres of lush green land and hence budget at least two hours to see the museum. Some aircrafts on display here are

Advanced Light Helicopter Dhruv

Ajeet

Basant

Canberra

Dove

Hansa

Mig-21

Sea King MK-42

Mig-21 M

Kiran

The museum can be easily reached by cabs as well a city buses. Go early when the museum opens when you can enjoy the museum and see the exhibits in peace before the unruly selfie obsessed and reel makers start coming.

Thanks for sharing this great experience at the HAL Heritage Centre and Aerospace Museum, @curatorofmemory :helicopter::airplane:

It’s amazing to see such a diverse lineup of historic aircraft β€” from the MiG-21 to the Dhruv chopper β€” all in one place. Your tip about visiting early is really helpful for those who want a peaceful, distraction-free experience.

Aviation buffs and curious minds alike will surely love this place!
Out of all the aircraft you saw, which one impressed you the most?

Thanks @NandKK for words of encouragement. My personal favourite- MIG 21. This aircraft even after so many decades continues to protect our skies
