Hakata Gion Yamakasa is held from July 1 to 15.
It is registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The “Goshintai,(the object of worship in a Shinto shrine)” which boasts a height of about 3 meters and a weight of about 1 ton, runs through the route on the following map of Fukuoka City, where I live, in about 35 minutes.

The “grand finare” event in the early morning of the 15th is especially popular with spectators.
The traditional narrow alleys provide a powerful sight to behold.
It is said that it is difficult for a skilled person to run through the sacred mountain (called a “Yama”) without bumping into the surrounding area.
Also, when you reach a wide road, it tends to meander.
It is also worth seeing how the members of the team take care of each other to keep the route straight.
This year, there is a part of the route that passes through Yama lodge (a place dedicated to Yama).

7月1日から15日まで行われる博多祇園山笠。
ユネスコ無形文化遺産に登録されています。
私が住む福岡市の以下のマップのルートを、高さ約3メートル、重さ約1トンを誇る『御神体』が35分程度で駆け抜けます。
追い山ルートマップ

特に15日早朝の「追い山」は見物客も多いです。
昔ながらの細い路地は、迫力ある様子を見物できます。
御神体（「山」と呼びます）を進めるにあたって、周囲へぶつからないように駆け抜けるのは手慣れた人ではないと困難と言われています。
また広い道路に出ると蛇行しがちです。
蛇行しないよう、メンバーなどが気をつけあってまっすぐ進める様子も見応えがあります。
今年はルートの中に山小屋（山を奉納する場所）をくぐり抜けるところがあります。
何年かに1度しかないので貴重です。
