In this post, I’m going to be talking about my favorite “Kanafeh” place in the world!
Kanafeh is a traditional middle eastern dessert. It’s made of two layers; the one on the top is basically some kind of thin noodles soaked in sweet syrup and the other one is a layer of white cheese or cream. On the top layer they sprinkle some pistachio and pour some sweet syrup made of sugar and water. There’re two types of Kanafeh; there’s the soft one and the hard one.
There’re many Kanafeh places in Jordan, Kanafeh might be the most common desserts there. Although, the one which steps out from the crowd -in my opinion- is Habibah in downtown Amman! Although this place is not a classy one and doesn’t have neither stools nor tables, but it’s still one of the most popular places between locals and tourists as well. It serves the best Kanafeh in Jordan for a pretty reasonable price; you can get 125gm of Kanafeh -which’s enough for one person- for only 1USD (0.70JD).
This place was founded in 1951, it’s located in the heart of downtown Amman. When I go to the downtown, I always grab some Kanafeh from Habibah.
Now I miss having Kanafeh from my favorite place due to the lockdown that we’re having here in Jordan for the meanwhile.
Trying Kanafeh from Habibah must be something on your list if you tend to visit Jordan!
