Just wanted to let everyone know that Ottawa, Canada will be having its first Local Guide event!! We are excited about this first event, we will be doing a Photo Walk starting at Minto Park and discovering all the sights and place in that area.

Awwe super sad I missed this. Hopefully there will be another Meetup of the Ottawa area Local Guides sooner than later. Is there an automatic notifonotifi for LG in Ottawa that one would be happening or would we only find out through this forum? Which by the way I only just discovered existed less than a week ago somehow even though Iām on my way to Lv9.

You can follow @OlegKostyukevich advice above in order to create a new meet-up yourself.
Unfortunately there is no such functionality yet that will send you a notification if a meet-up is happening next to you.
We have an open idea for this in the Idea Exchange section of the community - Meet-up Alerts for Local Guides. You can support this idea by posting there and also voting on the idea.
