Guide Photos and Storage Limits

Do photos we add to reviews still need to be stored in our personal Google Photos. What is the status of storage limits for photos used in reviews as well?

Hi @FrederickFarcaster

To answer your questions, since photos that you upload to Maps don’t count towards your storage quota, and since the nexus between Maps and Google Photos no longer exists, once uploaded to Maps (and you are certain that they appear at the Place of Interest onto which you have loaded them) you can delete your photos on Google Photos! In other words, Google Maps content (photos) are excluded from the Google Photos storage count!! Also keep in mind that it is the photos that you store in Google Photos after 1 June 2021 that count towards your storage limit.

This is good information to know about. I didn’t realize only my photos after June 2021 would be counted toward my storage! Great news and information. Thank you for asking the question!
