I’m still in newbie mode when it comes to navigating around the various Connect forums.
In the How-tos forum, often I find posts with a green tick indicating it has a solution to the problem that I have also. However, when I press the green Solution button, nothing happens.
I do all my Connect community activity using my Samsung Galaxy TabA 2017 model. Is there some setting I need to activate in my Connect Profile that will release the green Solution button? Thanks.
Hi @janina1 I’ve just tried this in both desktop and chrome and the button works for me. If the post is short, then the solution button doesn’t need to take you anywhere so it might not scroll.
Hi @ErmesT I had noticed the weird scrolling the page business! Often the comments go for a number of pages and yet it doesn’t find the solution amongst those comments. The tablet OS and Edge browser, my default, are the latest.
Hello @janina1
As the moderators have stated, the solution becomes visible just next to the problem & a little scrolling down can take you to that.
Nevertheless, it’s essential to resolve the problem as that may manifest on other links too.
Nevertheless, do you have any other browser installed on your phone? Does the link work fine in those? That would narrow the problem to the specific browser.
Still you can check the following. The “Go to solution” button contains a link. If you do a long press on that, you will see various menu option, including “Copy link address”. If you can see that, it would mean the page loading is perfect. You can paste that link in a new tab & verify the working.
Thanks @janina1 I’ve just tried it in Chromium Edge 81.0.416.77 and it works. Do you have any chrome plugins installed in your Chromium Edge? They can sometimes interfere.
You might consider clearing your cache for this website to see if that helps.
Thank you @PaulPavlinovich . Firstly, I don’t have any extensions in Edge and, secondly, I have just cleared the cache and did a long press on the button, which showed the URL of the solution ( @C_T suggestion). I can either copy link address or open in Edge. After clearing the cache, I chose to copy the link, went to a new tab and entered the link. It opened the webpage to a comment that has a green border and tick and Solution in green. Yay! *sigh
@PaulPavlinovich Even though I’ve accepted @C_T 's suggestion as the solution, because it is simpler to do, you are right that the green Solution button should take me directly to the relevant comment.
Glad that its working for you @janina1 do you have Javascript enabled by any chance? Its a bit unusual not to these days but that could certainly stop the scrolling effect (and lots of other Connect) things from working.
If you happen to have another browser installed (no need to put one on if you don’t) I’d be curious if it worked in that one.
