Great volunteering work by senior citizens

This is about a group of senior citizens who voluntarily converted a neglected playground into a well developed park and playground.

I know about this case very well because I was also one of the voluntary participant in that process albeit for a lessor time as compared to other members of the group.
About 7 years back near my residence in Navi Mumbai area in India, there was a neglected and old playground. As it was not maintained and dense grass and wild plants grew there so people feared to go there because of insects and snakes.
A small group of local senior citizens approached the local administration for getting some basic clearing, cleaning, and other works in the playground so that it could be used by the residents living in nearby housing societie.
The local administration provided some of the basic things but showed their inability to maintain and upkeep it on a regular basis.

The senior citizens took the challenge and responsibility themselves and started to plant flower plants around the fence in order to keep the centre part open for playing games especially by the children on holidays.
Though it was a small group of 8-10 people only, they did a commendable job of maintaining the playground and soon people started to come there for walks.

Seeing this, local administration provided some cement benches for sitting and made a round footpath along the boundary for working.
Some people made a volleyball court in one side and started to play the game on holidays.

This is a great contribution to the environment by these selfless volunteers and I thought to share some pics of this playground with the local guides in ‘connect’. Of course I had updated the information in Google Map also.

Please give your response and feedback mentioning any such effort about which you are aware.

Hello, dear friend @bhattuc

Congratulations…

Another nice post.

Looks like Part -2 of your previous post - congratulations.

Highly appreciate the valueable efforts by seniors. Our heart congratulations to all tem members - if possible, kindly convey our humble regards to all the participants.

Yes we do have many such missions going around in Bangalore. Madiwala lake is one such example - I have written about this lake in one of my previous posts.

Greetings from Bangalore

Hello fellow LG @MAdriel

Thank you very much for your kind support to our @bhattuc .

Your response will not be seen if you don’t TAG, LGs.

How to Tag: Simply by typing the symbol @ before the User Name of an LG (as I have done above, to you), you can send a notification (TAG) to the other member. Ex: if you need to TAG me, then type @ followed by TravellerG - then I will get a notification - for more details, click 'Here’.
