I have the privilege to be able to travel to the very north of Thailand for several days. It is in Mae Sai district of Thailand and Tachileik district of Myanmar.
- The weather is pleasant to me, very cold to many others especially in December (5-6degree in the morning 15-20degree during the day at Chiang Rai)
- People wear different clothes from those at central Thailand. Clothes are very similar to those of Burmese.
- Food preparation is also different from those in the central Thailand.
- The area is very mountainous and we can see many big farms
- Flowers are inevitable, almost everywhere. Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai are very colorful.
Tourism attractions at these areas, I have mentioned in my previous post here.

I wake up to @Ant_Bad_Yogi 's beautiful face everyday here, so, I feel like I have been to Thailand.
I have products made from Thailand at the store, especially the Yoko Spa salt.
Thailand has come to me actually
After the Pandemic, we will see if we can squeeze in a trip, for now, we save.

@Ewaade_3A so funny you are saying Thailand has come to you.
They even introduced new direct flights from Chiang Mai-Chiang Rai to Siem Reap. I think it is so cool as we can just go there without transiting in Bangkok - save much time and hassles. .

@Ewaade_3A thank you dear… I am glad you enjoyed that. I did not take that particular photo, others are mine. I cannot do anything so I only hope my photos and posts help spread good words and beautiful things about places I went to people who may or may not heard about that before.

This is so important @Sophia_Cambodia and is in fact the mission of Google Maps “that people everywhere may find places worth visiting and things worth doing”
This is very important Sophia, so you are foing a great thing and sharing this information make people very happy

@Ewaade_3A hehe, thank you. Come to think about it, I agree with you. I think Google and Connect give us chances to tell people about places we have been to. Unlike social media, only a circle of our friends knows about it. This is by far what I love about Connect and I keep writing until no one reads it anymore

Hi @Sophia_Cambodia
Thank you for sharing your great memories from Thailand.
All your photos are awesome, especially I liked Mae Kompong Homestay and Mae Fah Loung Garden photos.

@vijayparadkar thank you for reading my posts Yes, they are actually beautiful. Mae Kompong homestay is kinda unique. One day they receive about 500 visitors to go visit their small village of 358 households. It is not far from Chiang Mail. Mae Fah Loung Garden (the name itself means the garden of the queen who is a mother of the king). She loved to collect flowers and plants so they keep this place in her majesty’s honor. It is huge and very colorful. I really love it here. I wish there is a botanical garden in Cambodia too.

@vijayparadkar right, now that we cannot really cross the border, memories of the previous travels are the best. I have a very long list of places, destinations and countries I want to visit after the pandemic.
