Grateful for the One Accessibility Webinar on Breaking Digital Barriers

Hello everybody! Check out @EmekaUlor’s official recap of the event, but thought I would write a post of gratitude! I am having such a good time listening, engaging, and learning during the One Accessibility Webinar series! I enjoyed hearing success stories and stories of local guides’ accessibility journey last week, and was intrigued hearing about the direction of this impactful initiative this week.

This webinar was particularly interesting, considering I get excited to discuss new developments pertaining the future. We had the notable Joe Devon, who is so knowledgeable yet presents himself with such humility. One major takeaway I got from this event is that accessibility is being embedded in conversations surrounding digital barriers, and one of the ways to integrate accessibility from the onset is by keying in need-specific prompts to artificial intelligence software to stay ahead of the curb.

This is a revolutionary concept, because accessibility is often talked about as an afterthought, but it takes a level of empathy to think about inclusion right at the ideation phase, which we learned this week (stay tuned for the highlight).

A big shoutout to the amazing @EmekaUlor, who does so much behind the scenes and for incorporating the One Accessibility Webinar series as one of the events approved by GAAD in 2025.

Thank you all for attending and dedicating your time to this inclusive space!
