And the title is true.
Yay, I’m talking about Moldova! A really small landlocked country in Europe, between Romania and Ukraine.
Maybe some of you have mistakenly spelled it like Maldives, but it’s not exactly the same thing.
The capital is Chisinau, it’s about 700000 people living there now. We speak Russian and/or Moldavian (Romanian dialect).
Most people know this country for it’s world-wide famous wine - it is said to be one of the best sorts.
You can read a bit more about it right here.
Fun fact N1: the wine now counts as food - so now it can be sold even after 22:00.
Fun fact N2: Moldova has two territorial entities - Gagauzia and Transnistria - just like San-Marino and Vatican in Italy.
Fun fact N3: Although our Human Development Index number is 112, we’re on 3rd place on the quality of Internet connection.
Fun fact N4: Moldova had existed 3 years without a president due to political crisis.
I’ve been living for 20 years here and I count myself as a Local (person) Guide.
I write reviews and rate places I visit because I like helping people out.
Whether you’re here for a walk, for a drink or just general interest, I’ve created a nice list of places you could visit while in Chisinau.
Let me know if I missed something, cheers!
