I like to take graffiti and street art pics any time I visit a city. So once I relocated and settled in Sacramento from Toronto, I was amazed at all the great graffiti that was around and accepted within the city. There is a great festival (Walls Open Wide) that is now past it’s 3rd year. Feel free to post your love of graffiti, murals and street art around our great city of Sacramento.
I love graffiti as well @Dollin ! Which is your favorite graffiti in Sacramento? It would be great if you share it with the community. I’m sure that is going to motivate other Local Guides from your area to share their favorite ones.
P.S.: Please note that I’ve relabeled your post and now you can find it under the label Local Stories.
There’s so much great graffiti in the area. Since we have the yearly graffiti festival in Sacramento, it’s easy to find some great gems of art. I suggest just to start on J st by 5th and travel down (It’s one way), you’ll see giant pieces left and right off the street. Also behind the buildings in the alleys off of J Street.
Street art is one of the most powerful way to express feelings and cultures of a neighbourhood. I can’t wait to see some expression of it from Sacramento, in the meantime I can suggest you also a post to have a look regarding this topic- STREET ART WORLD .
As I am living in Bulgaria and it’s a bit hard for me to visit Sacramento. But I’ve tied to do a virtual tour with Street View on Google Maps of the streets that you’ve recommended, I couldn’t see any graffiti. So I’ll be really happy If you can share some of them.
And I agree with @Sorbe that you might enjoy the thread that he has shared with you.
