I have been contributing to Local Guides Connect since around 2014. I try to keep my reviews and locations updated as much as possible. I have a fairly new Garmin GPS that is very reliable. Sometimes while traveling
in Florida I get very frustrated when I show up at an address and it either is no longer in business or doesn’t
exist anymore. If there could be an easier way to post info about these no longer non-existent addresses it
would make life a whole lot easier for everyone. Being in town for a short visit and needing to make a trip
to the RMV is stressful enough without my GPS guiding me to an place that has since moved on.
“Welcome to Connect! If this is your first visit, you’ve come to the right place. This post will serve as a guide for everything you need to know about contributing content and engaging with the Local Guides community on Connect” This is the first of the information that you will find in “Your guide to Connect” , the introductory Guide of the community. In there you will find all the necessary information to know how to better contribute in the community
I am sorry about your issue with your Garmin, have you tried to navigate directly with Google Maps?
Regarding the no longer existing places, I know how can you feel, when you reach a place that appears to be open, and you discover that this is not true. You can help others by the Suggest edits to or closure of a place
The function for closing a place have been improved recently, and the new interface is more “user friendly” than the previous one.
