Google tricked me into paying money to Allure Beauty Box. How do I get a refund?

I got an email from Google giving me perks to subscribe to some magazines for free or to isgn up for Allure Beauty Box for $7.50. I was lured and fell for the latter. I redeemed the perk and PAID $7.50 to try out Beauty Box. This was April 30, 2019. A few days later my credit card was charged by Beauty Box for another $15.94 for membership. What the heck?! What kind of perk is that? Had it not been for the stupid Google perk email, I wouldn’t have signed up for Beauty Box in the first place! And later, I also found out that WITHOUT Google local guides perks, you could sign up for Beauty Box for just $10… So, what is exactly the perk, Google? $2.50? Hah, save it for yourself! I don’t need your perks. I will call Beauty Box, cancel my membership and get my money back!

I’m guessing you have been scammed @user_not_found and this has nothing to do with Google.

My heart goes out for you @user_not_found .

This can be so frustating.

Just one quick question, does the beauty site mentioned about storing your card details or something?

Hi @user_not_found I’m sorry to hear of your frustration. Can you please check the perk email for me - do you still have it? Open the email in gmail and under the sender you’ll see a small down arrow, click that so you can see the entire header is it from no-reply-

I also had the same issue with Allure. I believe Allure is at fault here. I reached out to them and asked for a refund. I will keep you updated.
