Google should be more interested in activating Local Guides program in Korea.
Korea is the world’s leading Internet powerhouse.
The best Android smart phone, Galaxy, is also made by Korean company.
Nevertheless, the Google Maps has fewer users in Korea.
The reason is that Koreans have already been using the local map application Naver Map and Kakao Map for a long time.
But the important fact is that almost all foreigners visiting Korea use Google Maps.
There are still a lot of stores on the Google Maps where the name is written only in Korean.
In addition, very few people manage stores with Google My Business.
In other words, there are still many inconveniences to foreigners using Google Maps in Korea.
Therefore, Google Maps should be improved to help foreigners find and choose places they want easily.
So, it is essential to activate Google Maps in Korea.
As a first step, more Koreans should be able to participate in the Local Guides program.
Also, Google needs to help Koreans understand the purpose of the Local Guides program.
If Google invites many Koreans to Connect Live, it will be a good motivation for Koreans to participate in Local Guides programs.
Thanks, Google!
I kind of agree with you on improving Google Maps in Korea. Been there a few times and had to manually navigate from one location to another since the 'Direction’s doesn’t work. However luckily it provides information of subway train information.
Some asked me use Kakao Map or so but i still find Google Maps more user friendly. So yeah, hopefully we will get to fully use Google Maps in Korea soon.
Once this all mess with the virus is over, I´am planning to travel to Korea. I´am really interested on Seul, Busan and trying to have some food from Jeong Kwan. If you could help me a little with some information, I would be pleased.
