Google Reviews are published

After I returned from my vacation, I reviewed the restaurants I visited on Google. But none of them have been published. Maybe it thought I was a bot as several reviews were posted at the same time? I deleted them after a few days and posted just one review to check. That too is not published. Can this be resolved? If not, I have just been wasting my time writing reviews for the benefit of others. Is there anyway I can contact Google support? Or is there something like that?

Hello @MadhiR welcome to the forum. I’m sorry for the situation you are experiencing, but have you tried asking for help without deleting the comments first? You could click on the relevant comment and mark it as wrong and send information. For example, in your latest review, I see that you have added your personal photos. And There are photos of people from the places you shared from many photo posts.this is prohibited under normal circumstances. I would recommend you to be more careful about adding comments and photos.Also, unfortunately, you opened the topic in the wrong place, I recommend you ask in the help section.

@Gezendunyali , greatly appreciate your response. I don’t know who to ask for help. I deleted all my reviews actually. Do you know how or whom to ask for help. As far as pics are concerned, I try hard not to post pics of others. Which review are you referring to, will go make the changes.

Thank you so much again. So, you are asking me to post a message in the help section of Google maps?

@KattyGeltmeyer , Thank you.

I posted reviews on 6 restaurants in 2 different cities after I returned from my trip. Looks like the system thought it was a bot. I have deleted all my reviews and just posted one review to check if that helps resolve the issue. It did not. Was just posting it as a community favor and nothing more. Thank you again.

I’ll tag @ErmesT and @MortenCopenhagen The latter published many helpfull posts about reviews being hidden. Keep in mind that reviews should review the places, you for sure can mention the services and the fact if the staff is friendly or not etc. but focus on the specific place. When I write a review I consider it to be the answer to the question “What would I like to know about this specific place myself?” and I try to convince others to visit that specific place. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tag, @KattyGeltmeyer .

Hi @MadhiR , I am sorry about your issue.

A review is normally made private because the filter found your review as inappropriate

As you can read in Report and fix inappropriate content "If a review you wrote has been removed, you may be able to fix it yourself. Edit your review to follow Google review policies — for example, you might remove a phone number or URL from the review.

Google uses machine learning algorithms to remove reviews that are probably policy-violating, and sometimes legitimate reviews are inadvertently removed."

Editing a review: The filter can be triggered by several elements, mostly related to the text of the review, but sometimes also to the attached media. My tip for you is to try to remove from the reviews the photos/videos attached and to post it again. If this works you can start to attach the media again, one by one, to find the one that is blocking the publication. If it doesn’t work you can try to modify the text.

If nothing works you can appeal for a check of the reviews. For the appeal please use the form that you can find in An update on how we moderate Google Maps reviews . Keep in mind that the check of the profile may takes several weeks (8 on my personal case)

@ErmesT , too kind of you to have sent that detailed response. Seems like a lot of work, but in the interest of community service, will give this a try. Thank you again. :slightly_smiling_face:
