Today I noticed one of my Google Reviews has been deleted of a website where I was scammed for $240. I did put the name of the person who scammed me in my review. Is this why my review was deleted? If not, I think it’s absolutely absurd that my real review would be deleted. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
A review is made private if violates Google’s review policies
In there you can read: “Maps is not meant to be a forum for general political, social commentary, or personal rants. Content that does not meet this standard will be removed”
It means that for some kind of issue, the right place where you can report is the local police, not Google Maps. This will also protect you from legal actions of the business

Hello @supersportmoto
As per my understanding, an LGs can review a physical entity and not a website How was it possible to review that is a surprise.
Nevertheless, we can always share a genuine experience. However, that has to happen in a neutral manner and without compromising the privacy of any person.
Further, a review is never deleted but becomes private. One can edit that to remove the objectionable content and make that public once again.
It’s very hard to believe that you have given your review to a website through Google Maps.
Whatever may be the reason of conflict between you and the so called scammer. You should follow the review guidelines, before reviewing on Map’s POI. That is why you are not able to see your review and moreover if your review is not as per the policy it might have been flagged.
Better to do it again with the rules of Google.
Thank you
I meant a review of a business, which has a website. Sorry for the confusion. I was going to ask about editing the review to remove the “objectionable” content so that it would appear, but you wonderful mods have already beat me to it
Thanks for all your help!
