Google accepts my contributions. But if I need to make changes, checks are requested on my initial contribution.
Do I update the information and Google does not validate it?
The same happened with the Hospital Internacional dos Açores, still without a phone number
in the form because Google cannot validate my contribution.
My contributions to Local Guide program have millions of views and Google assigns gadgets for them, but it can’t distinguish the good repute of the contributor.
On the other hand, false contributions are not deleted, even with complaints and evidence, they are not deleted.
I have been a contributor for over a year and this is what I’ve noticed:
there are different tiers of “Trust” for each different category: Fact Finder, Trailblazer, Photographer, Reviewer. The tiers are : Novice/Expert/Master. You can be a Master Photographer, but a Novice Fact Finder → this means that when you try to edit a business, your edit will be treated with a grain of salt. A ton of grain of salt.
As a Novice Fact Finder, I have noticed the only approved edits were the ones flagged as “Offensive/Harmful or Misleading”. Therefore, in order to boost my tier, I have reported closed/not existing business as “Offensive/Harmful or Misleading”. In this way, I was able to move to the next tier quite fast and continue with more relevant edits.
False reviews or inaccurate pictures - > indeed, they are seldom deleted
As you said that you want to help others, I would like to remind you that we are helping others also sharing our experience about a place through our photos and reviews. I’ve highlighted “our experience” because sharing photos taken from the web is totally unacceptable, and adding redundant photos is discouraged too, because it is useless as you don’t improve the description of the place. With this in mind, I suggest you to check your contributions and to remove everything against the Community policy :
“Take photos that clearly and accurately represent a location …**”
“Dark, blurry, and redundant photos will be removed. Users who duplicate photos across locations, … will also be removed.”
This will help you to better help others and you will avoid any risk for your account
