Google Maps: sharing is helping

Have you ever attended a show but did not know where to park your car? Have you ever gone to a bar but doubted the area was safe at a certain hour?

If any of this situations had happened to you, it is because you do not consult enough Local Guides or because this information is not yet in the contributions. In Buenos Aires we still need a lot of activity from Local Guides to be able to confirm if the area we are going to is safe, to know if it is better to avoid it or take another route. For this reason, I am interested in making the map a place for opinions about secure areas, so we can help take care of every member of the community through Google.

For example, in Buenos Aires attending a “futbol” match of your team is as normal as breathing! Twice a month, my team plays in their stadium, which I already know and know all about its parking, its characteristics and its neighborhood. But two Saturdays a month we play in other stadiums where I go with few indications of what their neighborhoods are like, if I should take public transport, if it is safe to take my camera.

For this reason, a few days ago I started to prepare contributions based on my personal experience about attending sporting events in Buenos Aires’ soccer stadiums. According to my own experience, I am interested in sharing so everyone can have a safe trip to the stadiums, so they can know in advantage where is are the entrance and it is safe to access.

Every time I go to one of these games, I will contribute to Google Maps with all the possible indications so that both Argentines and foreigners can attend safely the matches of my team, San Lorenzo, and also to Boca, River and all the big and small clubs I hope this will encouraged many more soccer fans to collaborate in Local Guides. Together we can make the Google Map help us feel safe to go and watch football as well as all other events.
