Some time ago I added some subdomain based sites on google listing. Like weebly wix etc.
But now I am not able to add subdomain as a website for business.
I am getting this message at the same time when I add the website - " Your edit couldn’t be verified, so it won’t be published."
To me it seems that google has stopped to accept the subdomain websites.
Note- I know business.site is owned by google, and this is used a domain to add website for business listings on maps. Why Google not accepting other subdomains?
There may be a concern around the veracity and authenticity of the sub-domain website as these are often used for phishing schemes. Businesses should always get their own domain.
I’ve not heard of Maps rejecting them outright. When you get the message “Your edit couldn’t be verified, so it won’t be published.” in email it means either another Local Guide as rejected your pending change via “Check the facts” or a Googler has reviewed your change and decided not to accept it.
I am completely agree with you, if this will be related to veracity and authenticity of domain. But how Google can judge it.
I also tested the google sites -business.site and it is added at the same time.
Is it not like Google is Supporting its Own sites, and opposing others?
Yes this is what I was not expecting, the suggestion was rejected at the same time [ after 4-5 seconds]. It is an auto rejection from Google Maps.
If this was rejected via “Check the facts” it should take some time, say some hours or 1 day or so.
I am using Local Guide and I am on Level 6 and more than 3000 points. I know very well how it works and how “Check the facts” works. But I am surprised, why the suggestion is removed at the same time?
