Google Maps not show the walking paths on some bridges in New York City

Specifically the George Washington Bridge and the Henry Hudson bridge. For example if you put walking directions from Washington heights to Fort Lee, it will route you all the way down to 40’th st to take a ferry.

As a local guide you can add them in the mobile app, @thisisalloneword .

You can learn how here.

Actually the walking paths are already there on maps. But for unknown reason it won’t route you on them. So basically it’s a “wrong routing” issue. Can this be reported?

Hello @thisisalloneword

I could get walking direction along the George Washington bridge. Here’s a screenshot.

The start and endpoints are the same mentioned in your post. Can you attach a screenshot of your findings?

Thanks @C_T , you are correct, it does seem to be showing it correctly now. I tried twice last week and it was not. Perhaps because of bridge construction the path may have been closed for some days and Google Maps takes some delay before it can figure out it’s open again?
