:red_car: Google Maps’ New Feature Alert! :red_car:

Hey, Local Guides! :earth_africa: I just discovered an amazing new feature on Google Maps, and it seems I got early access to it—super excited to share it with all of you! :tada:

Now, when you start Drive Mode for directions, you can customize your vehicle icon! :blue_car::sparkles: Instead of the standard blue arrow, you can choose from a variety of vehicle icons, including sedans, SUVs, and more. It’s such a cool way to make navigation more fun and personal.

Here’s why this feature is awesome:

:white_check_mark: Adds a personal touch to your navigation experience.

:white_check_mark: Perfect for matching the icon to your car type or just picking something that makes you smile while driving.

:white_check_mark: Shows Google Maps’ dedication to enhancing user experience with creative updates.

How to use it:

:one: Start your Drive Mode in Google Maps.

:two: Tap the blue arrow icon.

:three: Select your favorite vehicle from the new options.

:four: Watch your chosen vehicle guide you to your destination in style! :oncoming_automobile:

The option to change your arrow with a different icon was rolled out first on iOS in 2018: Now on iOS: new vehicle icons to spice up your drive
A bit later it was added on Android too. Choose your vehicle icon in the Google Maps app - Google Maps Help
The recent update, that is related to the possibility of changing the colour of the vehicle, and is using some better shaped icon, is rolling out just now.
I tested it a bit this update on 2020, and I disable it immediately due to the reduced accuracy on the navigation, especially when you are driving inside a city. You can easily miss the correct turn.
Yes, it’s funny, but anything else.
Also please do not use “street view” in your tag. Street View is a very specific feature, and it should be used for adding topics related to that, to make it easier for the Local Guides to find contents related to that feature
