I am writing to bring attention to a persistent issue I’ve encountered while uploading photos to Google Maps. The problem occurs when I upload photos to one address and then attempt to upload photos to a different address. Despite selecting the new address, all the photos are incorrectly linked to the first address.
The only way I’ve found to resolve this is to:
Close the browser.
Refresh the page multiple times.
Navigate back to the correct address and reattempt the upload.
Only after going through this tedious process do the photos attach to the intended location.
I noticed that someone reported this same issue about eight months ago, but it appears the problem has not been addressed or resolved. This is extremely frustrating, as uploading photos to multiple locations has become a time-consuming task—far more so than capturing and editing the images or even performing my regular work duties.
Google Maps is a valuable tool for sharing local insights and helping others discover new places. However, this bug undermines its functionality and discourages users like me from contributing.
I kindly request that this issue be investigated and resolved promptly. A smoother and more reliable upload process would not only save contributors significant time but also enhance the overall experience for everyone.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response and any updates regarding a solution.
It appears that their website has undergone a redesign; however, it seems the team has been reduced in size, possibly as a result of the recent layoffs at Google, which may have led to the departure of certain individuals. I sincerely hope that Google Maps does not meet the same fate as Google+, or the now-deprecated Street View app, especially considering that I rely on Google Maps for navigation far more than any other application.
Thinking about this issue, I wonder how many times this happened, but the user who uploaded did not notice it and it results in photos staying linked to the wrong place and possibly ending up having the same picture at two different places.

I wonder if this issue is receiving the attention it deserves or if it’s being overlooked. Lately, I’ve observed that some key operational concerns with Google Maps seem to be neglected, as the focus appears to be directed elsewhere. Addressing these areas could significantly enhance the platform’s functionality.

First and foremost, Google Maps offers contributors a valuable tool to better understand local customs, enabling new travelers to plan their destinations more easily and with greater clarity. However, while some individuals claim to contribute meaningfully, many focus on increasing their points by repeatedly photographing storefronts, indiscriminately deleting and recreating business listings, or providing irrelevant feedback and evaluations. Such practices detract from the purpose of the platform and fail to guide users effectively. My approach is fundamentally different. I aim to enhance the practicality and usability of Google Maps, leveraging this platform to showcase its strengths and ensure its enduring value for users worldwide.
This issue does not appear to be a system-wide problem impacting all users but rather a matter stemming from specific programs, coding practices, or web design. If the issue is ignored or addressed superficially, it is likely to persist.
It is worth noting that the level of attention and expertise dedicated to resolving such issues has shifted over time. In the past, similar problems were addressed promptly, and users received timely support and reassurance. The current pace of response raises concerns about whether resources, such as expert personnel, remain fully available or if operational changes have impacted the process.
