Just we completed our holiday dinner, suddenly an emergency situation arrived. It’s just like another night call day to me during my emergency duty days. Suddenly I noticed some medical alerts that our baby can be born anytime in next few hrs but the Hospital is little away from our present stay.
The road condition is not good and ambulance is not available so we started our journey towards Hospital by our car and it took 1 hr 30 mins to reach Salt lake Columbia Asia Hospital from our home in Serampore. The inbuilt Google Maps GPS assisted our car ride smoothly and guided the best available traffic route to the hospital.
We reached the Hospital at around 10.45 pm and I admitted her in emergency at midnight. The 360 photos of Hospital helped us to feel details inside view of hospital and we waited for the time to come. My wife wheeled to the operating room in next morning and undergone some pre surgical procedures. Our daughter was born at early morning next day (18th January 2021) by emergency C section surgery.
Time : 7.58 AM, Date : 18th January 2021, Monday - Our daughter ‘Ivana’ was born
After 3 days of Hospital stay we came home and both mother and baby are doing well.
Another interesting thing that I observed is positive sides of review system on Google maps. Before going to Hospital we had gone through the review section of this Hospital and filtered the highlighted term ‘baby’ in review. So that we had a clear idea from patients regarding their maternity feedback of this Hospital.
Due to my busy schedules since past 9 months; my visit to Connect platform were limited and yesterday I got a surprise – many Local guides friends wished our famous Googler @TraciC on her Birthday on 19th January.
I am very happy that my favorite Googler’s birth day and our daughter’s birthday came one after the other.

It is just amazing nowadays how Google maps is helping millions of people in Emergency condition, just like yours. Thanks to LG program and entire Google maps team for their support and efforts, also to the LGs who are relentlessly updating the Google maps with quality contribution.

Congrats @DrShaunak with the new addition to your family! I didn’t realize your wife had to go through and emergency C-section! You and your wife had to go through too much stress.
Yes, having a child and becoming a parent opens a whole new world as a Local Guide within Google Maps.The cool thing is that as your daughter continues to get older you and your wife continue to go through new experiences (life stages) as parents which are new things to search and add to Google Maps (reviews, photos).
If you plan to put Ivana into preschool at two, start your online research now. The good ones have wait lists! Competitive to get in when it’s time to enroll.

Thank you @KarenVChin for your well wishes. Yes, we had some stress though but it was not high. Actually we waited for entire night for almost 5-6 hrs but water leakage and other few complications were there so doctor decided for C section.
I already started some online research. Everyday I search different things in Google and get satisfactory search results.
