Google Maps has introduced a fantastic new feature

Google Maps has introduced a fantastic new feature that makes it even more useful in our daily lives. Now, when you open the page of any cinema or theatre on Google Maps, you can view the list of movies currently playing along with their showtimes. This feature is incredibly helpful, especially for people who enjoy watching movies regularly or are planning a spontaneous movie outing.

Earlier, we had to check different apps or websites to find out movie timings and then figure out which cinema is nearby. But now, with this new update, everything is available in one place. You can easily check which movies are playing at a particular cinema, compare showtimes, and decide which show is most convenient for you. It saves a lot of time and effort.

This feature is also helpful for tourists or people visiting a new city, as they can quickly find nearby cinemas and available showtimes without needing to search separately. It improves the overall user experience and shows how Google Maps is evolving beyond just navigation.

In addition, this feature can help cinemas reach more audiences, as people can discover showtimes while browsing the map. It’s a win-win for both users and cinema owners.

Overall, I think this is a very smart and thoughtful update by Google. It adds real value to the app and makes it much more than just a tool for directions. I’m really impressed with this feature and excited to see what new improvements Google Maps brings in the future.

Great catch. I just checked and my local cinema is also connected to Google Maps to show the live program. I don’t know how old/new this feature is.

Yes @MortenCopenhagen sir i also recently came across a new and good thing on Google Maps that there was a pop up on it that there was a list of IPL (Indian Premier League Cricket) on big screens and restaurants where IPL was being shown on big screen TVs.

I found out about this about a month ago when I was scouting a location for a movie. It’s great that this feature was available at your place earlier. I uploaded about it here because I’ve only recently become active on Local Guide Connect.

Thanks for your appreciation. @BudionoS

This feature might be available at your place too — sometimes it glitches or doesn’t update properly. Try checking a different cinema, and you might be able to see the feature there."

Thanks for pointing this out @Hanugya.Panchal, but it doesn’t seem to be activated in my country.

I wonder, if it requires additional information from the business owners …

In spite of @Annaelisa’s experience, I was only able to find the Web site of a cinema, but not even opening hours on the Google Maps listing of a German cinema.

cc @Hanugya.Panchal

P.S. Just found out: It does show up on the Android App.

At this point I see nothing on mobile, and website links on desktop. Lets wait and see how the next days or weeks go for this.

Coincidence but yesterday, on the occasion of a visit to the cinema I noticed such an option. Seemingly a small thing but very useful.
