I have a question, how do you follow other local guides from Google Maps, looking forward to following and seeing what other local guides are up to.

Glad to see you’re excited about this new feature as I am as well! For the time being, as explained in this post by @TiffanyBnyc , the follow a Local Guide feature will be tested soon in Bangkok, Delhi, London, Mexico City, New York, Osaka, San Francisco, São Paulo and Tokyo.
Hopefully will roll out to the masses shortly thereafter but keep your eyes peeled on the announcements page for more details down the line!

Great to see this question here. Because yesterday I was exploring the map application, I saw this option following but could not find the follow option in others public profile.
I’m also excited to know about this option. 
Is there a reason why Google chose those countries? I could not see a pattern.
