Google Maps Edits Are Being Rejected Automatically

Hi,

I am experiencing an issue with Google Maps that started today. Whenever I submit an edit to an existing place or attempt to add a new place to Google Maps, my submission is immediately rejected by the system.

This happens consistently, even when the information I provide is accurate and based on real, verifiable locations. The rejection appears to occur almost instantly, without any apparent review process.

Please investigate this issue and check what is causing my edits and new place submissions to be automatically rejected.

Thank you for your assistance.

Dear @Nilvla

Instant rejections usually happen when the automated moderation system flags an edit before it reaches manual review. This can occur for a few common reasons:

  • Automated Filter Triggers: The algorithm might be sensitive to specific keywords, formatting, or the category chosen.
  • Temporary Account or Regional Cooldown: Submitting multiple edits in a short span or editing in areas with heightened spam protections can cause automated blocks.
  • Location Verification: Ensure the pin placement is exact and matches verifiable public data (like street imagery or storefront signage).

What you can do:

Hi, and thank you for your detailed response.

However, I would like to clarify that I had not submitted any place edits or added any new places for a long time. I had only been making road edits on Google Maps. Therefore, I don’t believe the issue is related to submitting multiple edits in a short period, temporary activity limits, location verification, or any of the other reasons mentioned above.

The fact that my place edits and new place submissions are being rejected immediately, regardless of the type of edit, makes me believe there may be another issue affecting my account or the moderation system.

Could someone from the Google Maps or Local Guides management team please look into this issue and investigate what might be causing these immediate rejections?

Thank you again for your help.
