Google maps - a glance from Belarus

Google maps are getting deeper into our everyday life. People search Google Maps for various places, create routes, study their places of interest.

Living in Belarus, I often encounter the fact that many objects are not marked on carats, and some are not in their place, possibly mistaken. I often add new organizations of Belarus to the maps, because I think that with this I can improve both Google Maps itself and Google search. In addition, I add an interactive google map to the sites in order to improve the search for objects also within a single site.

Given the rapidly growing search volumes of information on mobile devices, and the fact that in Belarus most of the users of mobile devices use Google search (about 75-80%), I am sure that my work significantly helps people quickly find information and navigate the terrain, and making reliable information or editing erroneous, I think also has a good effect on the informativeness of Google maps and improves the trust of Belarusian users to them.

Belarus is on a big international route between the countries of the European Union and Russia, a lot of foreigners come to our city and all of them use Google search.

The city has a lot of different historical monuments and tourists actively move around the city exploring its attractions. I would be glad if my work will help them in their preparation for the visit to Belarus and when they are in our country. We are pleased to continue to contribute to the development of Google maps.
