Hi @AngshuKNJ , “Welcome to Connect! If this is your first visit, you’ve come to the right place. This post will serve as a guide for everything you need to know about contributing content and engaging with the Local Guides community on Connect”. This is the first of the information that you will find in “Your guide to Connect” , the introductory Guide of the community. In there you will find all the necessary information to know how to better contribute in here.

Having hidden reviews can be due to a violation of the Maps user-generated content policy , or to a mistake of the AI. In my opinion in your case it is more about a violation of the policies. I try to explain: in your review most of the time you focus on useless and generic information, like where the place is located. As we use Google Maps we know already where the place is. Only a few times you say something about Your Experience At The Place, but the scope of the review is just that one (how was our experience in there).

In addition I can say that a review is rejected due to the photos attached. Looking at your visible ones (50% of your photos are hidden) I can see a lot of violations: Redundant, duplicates, photos added in more than one place are all violations of the Community Policy

But of course some review can be made private by mistake. in this case you can appeal by using the form linked in this post: An update on how we moderate Google Maps reviews . However I would like to suggest you, before to use that form, to make a big cleanup of your contents. When Google will check your profile they will see for sure the violations mentioned here so that the result may be the one you are not expecting: instead to have the review released you can have the profile banned

Do you have a doubt about how to do something? The Help desk is here for you, with a long list of post with detailed indications on how to post.

Which kind of contents we share in the community? What are Connect topics? will give you an explanation

The difference between the number of reviews you’ve given and the number of reviews shown to others on Google Maps could be due to several factors:

  1. Review Filter and Algorithm: Google uses algorithms to determine the visibility of reviews on Google Maps. Not all reviews might be shown to everyone immediately. Reviews are sometimes subject to filtering to ensure their authenticity and quality. Reviews that seem suspicious or violate Google’s policies might not be displayed to the public.

  2. Recent Reviews: Recent reviews might take some time to be fully processed and displayed to the public. It’s possible that some of your recent reviews are still going through the review process before they are shown to others.

  3. Duplicate or Similar Reviews: Google might filter out duplicate or very similar reviews to prevent spam. If you’ve given multiple reviews that are very similar, only one might be displayed.

  4. Review Deletion: If you’ve edited or deleted some of your reviews after submitting them, they might not appear in the final count that others see.

  5. Personalized Recommendations: Google Maps might tailor the reviews shown to users based on their preferences and interests. This means that not all users will see the same set of reviews for a particular location.

  6. Review Changes: If you’ve changed your local guide level (for example, from Level 4 to Level 5), the visibility and impact of your reviews might change based on your level.

  7. Review Length and Quality: Google might prioritize reviews that are longer, more detailed, and provide valuable information to other users. Reviews that are very short or lack meaningful content might not be as prominently displayed.

If you’re confident that your reviews meet Google’s guidelines and you still believe there’s a discrepancy, you can try the following:

  • Give Detailed Reviews: Provide reviews that are descriptive, informative, and helpful to other users. Detailed reviews are more likely to be seen by others.

    • Continue Contributing: Keep contributing valuable and accurate reviews to Google Maps. The more you contribute and engage with the community, the more likely your reviews will be visible.

Remember that the visibility of reviews on Google Maps can be influenced by a variety of factors, including Google’s algorithms, review quality, and the user’s individual experience. Focus on providing helpful and informative reviews to contribute positively to the Google Maps community.
