I have accidentally clicked “Delete all Timeline data” in google map. Now there is no place shown that I have previously visited in the timeline section in google map. Earlier I used to see the countries and cities that I have visited. I can see below the Delete all Timeline data saying “Permanently delete visits and routes from this device”. What does that mean? I have only one mobile device connected to my google account. Is there a way to recover my Timeline?
Time line connect with gps location history of your device . Only google map never mention time line on ever time @johnkoshy

Welcome back. It is sad that you have permanently deleted the timeline data and sorry to hear this loss but once timeline data is deleted there is no way that you can recover it except if you have a backup on your device.
This is the recent change and all users have been informed about this by Google. Timeline data is now device specific.

I clicked the cloud button under timeline and I can see “You backups”. I clicked my device name backup but nothing happens. Then I click the three dots and it shows to delete the backup. Is it possible to restore my timeline with this backup?
@johnkoshy sorry my friend, you have accidentally deleted your timeline permanently… and google have no data recovery option for this issue.

Unfortunately, there is no option to restore your timeline data, once the data is deleted from your Timeline, it will be permanently deleted, it cannot be restored, there is no undo or recovery process.

To prevent such situations in the future, regularly ensure that Location History is enabled to keep a record of your visits. Additionally, consider using Google Takeout to periodically download and save your Google Maps data, including Timeline information, and always double-check before making irreversible changes to your account settings. While the deleted data cannot be restored, you can start fresh by enabling Location History in your Google account to save your future visits and routes.
