It’s an accessible and free way to help out tourists/foreigners - I’ve personally used Local Guide ratings from Google when I visit new places here in the Philippines. It’s convenient and you can gauge if something’s worth trying or not. Sometimes, if a friend recommends something, you’ll look up its reviews and if it’s a bit off, you’ll still try it out for yourself.
