Hello everyone, I’m Vaibhav, a level 6 local guide. I’ve been travelling a lot lately and local guides have helped me to find amazing places to visit and places to stay and have food. The program has helped me to hone my photography skills as well, I get to post real time pictures of the places. It has made world a truly interactive place to live in and explore. I’m a writer and I use travel as oxygen. Once while I was on a bike trip in Spiti Valley, Himachal Pradesh India and been riding for 6 hours without a stop, hungry, thirsty, exhausted almost dead, I ran a google places search as soon as I found network and finally was helped by one of the Local guide, took a short detour and found the place as advised. Similarly while I was planning my stay at Pangong Tso lake, It was really very dark and my fuel tank was running on empty. Found a place to feed me as well as my bike. After a couple of these experiences everytime I plan to go out someplace new I seek Local Guides’ help to where I’m headed. As of now my posted Google photos have more than 4 lac views on Local Guides portal. It means that the reviews and posts that I made are making an impact on the world, also as someone who has an eye for detail I found this to be a great opportunity to showcase my photography skills and use it as a means to bridge the gap of distance between some really amazing places and people from far off lands. Whenever I have some doubts about a certain place or some feature of a particular restaurant, I trust only the reviews posted by Local Guides and they never leave me astray. Besides, Shopping malls, theatres, hotels all have their posts curated by local guides. I don’t have to worry in making a refined decision. Thanks and see you all at Google Local Guides Connect Event 2020 in California. Cheers!

Hi @Lordwebby , since there’s still time for the application, I really suggest you to read carefully at this Guideline again of how to make a good application post, which the post must be 300 words minimum and it should be under “Local Stories” topic. Wish you luck!
