We will never come to the exact reasons. However, the likely ones are
Excessive spamming and proliferation of fake spots.
Request by local authorities to do so.
PS: However, we can continue suggesting updates through the send feedback route.
Further, if any error is causing tremendous hardships to the community, we can present the case here on Connect along with complete details (Maps link, a screenshot of send feedback message etc.) and then tag a Google moderator. I have noted a positive response in many cases.
@BorislavA it seems that for some reason any edit is not accepted there at the moment (that’s how I interpret the feedback in the screenshot you shared). Sometimes Google simply blocks all edits if e.g. there has been a lot of abuse in an area. I don’t think there is anything we can do about that right now. Perhaps try again in a couple of months.
I also receive the same when trying many times to change the name of a listing that with his name is violating Google maps rules - this guy is a photographer, but as name of his listing he is using Product photography /should be Peter Ivanov/.
Sorry for hooking on here, but I was unable to start a new post.
I have been trying to add a restaurant for over two months and could really use your help.
I get the same “Google isn’t accepting edits to this location.”
I have tried adding the government supplied street sign, various photos of the store front, and various degrees of information with no luck.
I even tried changing the address too get the place on the map and change the address later, but have received the same error.
I have made a Google business account, and requested the post card, and never gotten it. I even tried changing the address to my home address and getting the verification sent here with no success.
I don’t understand as last year I added my friends food stall without any problems. And across the street from MexCafe there is a pizza truck that is only there on weekends, but he is on Google maps.
i always thought the ice cream stand never worked because it was only there on weekends. (Like the pizza truck)
But our taco truck is permanently there. And opens during the week as well. And even has four tables (Bert-Garden style) in the gravel lot where it is.
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I have asked on the Google business boards, and have been informed that they cannot perform edits and are not privy to the reasons behind the error messages because they are all users, and not Google employees.
